“Biotechnology is of prime importance viewed from the perspective of employment, economy, science, and technologic progress,” said Dr. Mostafa Ghanei, the Secretary of Iran’s Biotechnology Development Committee, on Monday.
He made the remarks during the opening ceremony of the 4th exhibition of Iran’s biotechnology in Tehran recounting that there are more than 15000 have graduated biotechnology major in Iran.
“Currently Iran is ranked as the 14th country of the world in scientific production in the field of biotechnology which means Iran is among the top 14 countries of the word in the field,” recounted the Iranian official hailing the Iranian graduates of the major.
He underlined that it is necessary to tap the science acquired into production saying that Iran is the number one in the world in terms of research in the field of biotechnology.
“There are more than 300 knowledge-based companies in Iran in the area of biotechnology and some of them are even playing a bold role in exporting their products to foreign countries,” noted the secretary of biotechnology committee.
